Sciatica Treatment

What is sciatica? Sciatica simply means you have pain, pins and needles and/or numb feelings into your buttocks or legs. The most common cause of sciatica is a pinched nerve in your lower back caused by a malfunctioning spine. Sciatica pain can stay in the buttocks or travel down the thigh, into the knee calf and feet. Sciatica pain can occur in one or both buttocks at the same time. Sciatica pain can also occur in one or both legs or feet at the same time. Sciatica treatment involves first diagnosing any spinal problems, then treating the spinal malfunction by the application of chiropractic adjustments. These adjustments can help to relieve the pressure and tension on the sciatic nerve. Because sciatic pain is often the result of a long-standing problem, treatment for sciatica may take some time. Many patients notice some symptom improvement in 2-4 weeks.
